Our 5th session was recorded on the 2nd February 2006, once again in Ian’s comfy lounge room onto the Teac 4 track cassette recorder.
We played for hours and enjoyed ourselves immensely but the ensemble work didn’t gel as well as it had before. There was plenty of good material but it lacked the spark of previous attempts.
So Rob took the tracks and made a radical edit. Firstly he isolated each person’s contributions and made discreet mixes of an individual “playing” against themselves. The best of these were then positioned into a single long piece, cross fading the separate tracks into a seamless whole.

The recording sessions are always improvised but the raw mixes are edited dramatically, twisted horribly and minutely managed until we get the result we want.
It doesn't always work but, on our 13th session, we added in some extra textures from Tim Fagan. Some of our best stuff.
